What if they start screening EAD or GC guys and decide applications on the fact that at one point of time one has not maintained this rule and start denying.

Thank you. Please encourage everyone to sign too. H1 visas have a fee to retrain, educate students in math and science. It amounts to billions of dollars that is used for educating students here. I think we need to educate him and not put up with whatever he feels can say and untrue. Besides we have all contributed and have not strained any support system like social security, medicare.

I don't know what this petition is going to do. Atleast it will convey to CNN top brass that there are people out there who won't tolerate such lies. Maybe it won't do anything now but we must continue our efforts and oppose such false propagation of information whenever we can.

IV core is doing a great job. One can't ask more of these great guys (and gals)!!
Although I support the idea and my spouse would be benefited by it, allowing H4s to work is a whole different ballgame and way more controversial than the current IV agenda. Your spouses will be able to work once you and they get EADs (although I know you will have to renew annually)...this is way more reasonable.

Bashing the system and correcting the imbalances are correct. But some people in this forum are targetting individual persons(some times Senators) and doing personal attacks some times bad words also(I can see atleast 100 postings like that). No one realise the fact that same right we were not able to get in our own country. Can anyone talk to MLA or MP in India by phone when they want if any issue?. So we need to appreciate that we got extra freedom than our own country. If we want to correct problems in the system we have to fight with patient with point in mind that we are aliens compared to those who came here 20 years or 100 years before us.
Everyone on this forum or at least most of us on the forum know what are the downsides in indian system. Every one can write thousands of pages . I agree with you that India has problems and I am the first one to agree.
The momemt one starts comparing both countries , It is a race to bottom. Hope you understand.
At least personally I have so much respect for the system. Dont think that who questions an unfair system is less appreciative of USA.

I am taxed every month for social security though I am not eligible for any of those benifits as of yet. I always thought if that is the price I have to pay to make America my home I thought I would do that happily.
I still have beleif in the system and hopefully something better comes out .
I am just writing this email to complete my civic responsibility and If I dont speak out nobody will speak on my behalf.
I would appreciate if you can educate some people like your dad ...

I have responsed and sent sample letter to all requests I got before 8 AM PST this morning. Also, sent out the contact info for the TSC officer.
Please do not email me and ask me how to reach an officer at TSC. I have already posted the instructions in this thread so that everyone can see/use it.

Where is your case? You should call and talk to an IO and find out. It will be good if the IO can put in a note in your case on which 140 needs to be used. After around 100 calls, I managed to talk to a very friendly IO, she put in a note and asked for my file to be pulled out of storage (I believe that is what happened in my case). I was on the phone for around 20 minutes with this IO and I couldnt believe how a IO could be so friendly and polite :) Have you treid CIS Ombudsman and USCIS Sec. Napolitano?

Allow me to respond to your message. But before I do that, will request you to please remove the advertisement to your website - which in my opinion is divisive. IV is not just for Indians or for people from any one country/geographical location. Hope you would agree and do the necessary at your earliest convenience.

I completely disagree with your message here. You dont even know what the personal reason for not participating in a state chapter is. I, for one, am unable to join a state chapter, because , the nearest chapter is 400 miles and 2 states away. What good would it do to me to join something that I can never be part of. I wanted to start a state chapter here in my place, but I couldnt find any useful resources on how to do it. May be eb3_nepa has some reasons like it.
Like you said, IV is not a top-down organization, which means everyone is responsible for everyone. I dont see anything wrong with eb3_nepa's questions. He wanted to know what is going on. I am sure there are lots of people around here who has the same questions.
The Admin Fixes letter campaign was a good initiative. But, the target date got moved twice, and now I dont even know when the end date is.
May be IV should be a top-down organization. Any organization as big as IV would probably be better served with a Top Team. That team could probably elected by the community. I am confident, that most of our members wouldnt even mind spending a few extra bucks to pay a honarary amount to this team for their efforts and time. Then there will be more structure and accountability and action going on around here.
I came to know about IV pretty late. When I did learn about IV and joined IV, I was a very enthusiastic participant. Of late, I do believe IV is fading away. I dont see so many activities going on around here. Like eb3_nepa and few others said, IV is right now becoming just another Immigration portal. It is starting to lose its identity.
After doing all the hard work to gather a mass or like minded people, it will be shameful, if IV drifts away from its stated aim. So, may be it is time for every member, including core members like you to refect upon things and come up with ways to make this organization more transparent and more accessible for people like me.
Like Waldenpond said, it is probably not wise to list all the items going on in the portal. The work around to that would be, we can add another membership type which is more restrictive. This membership group will have only members whose identities have been verified. Once this group is created, IV can post all the happenings accessible to them. This will help people like me who are unable to be part of any state chapter to know what is happening at IV. Keep our sprits high.

the limit. I know Wipro paying 1500$ per month to people on L1
in Stamford , CT .
Stamford CT is an expensive place with 2 bedroom rent like 1800$.
When indian companies do all this what/how do you expect people
to react.
Now the local population has become hostile to H1B and anything
related to skilled immigration.
It wasnt like that before...say 10 years back.
