Well Rep Lofgren is one of the two lawmakers in the House who have background in immig. issues (she was an immig. attorney).
If she doesn't have an obligation to solve immig. issue who else will have? It is her expertise and she want to solve the problem. Give her a chance, by supporting her effort on the 3 bills.
WHY is she backing the bill..what is her motivation? or did she just decide to do a gandhi on us all?

I am a July filer and was issued a RFE recently. The last update on my case happened a week after USCIS received my reply. I have not been notified for any fingerprinting.

It is important to know that despite of severe visa retrogression and random visa cutoff date movements, USICIS or DOS hasn�t released any official information on how many Adjustment of Status applications are pending at USCIS under various categories which leaves thousands of AOS(Adjustment of Status) applicants in complete darkness and dependent on guessing games by various Law firms.
A green card application requires enormous amount of efforts and money from the beneficiary and his/her employer. People who are waiting for 7-8 years now would have had already spent average $15,000-$20,000, in maintaining their statuses and keep the Green Card process going on. Being stuck in a green card process keeps us bonded with 1 employer, job type etc.
We need to know if there is any light at the end of the tunnel. We need to know for how long we have to live our life in limbo. If there is hope than we need to be patient and plan to live like that for another 1-2 years. But if there�s no light at the end of the tunnel than we need to move on with our careers and other family commitments. Only your office and USCIS can help us by releasing statistics on the number and categories of applications pending with USCIS people waiting in this category can plan their lives accordingly.
It will be a great help if DOS or USCIS could tell us about the number of AOS application pending at USCIS along with their Categories(EB-3, EB-2, EB-1) and chargeable country.

Please guys. Do not rush your marriage for Green Card. I know couple of my friends ended up in bad marriage experience just becoz they are getting faster green card. Choosing right partner is more important than GC.
If you already decided on your partner and waiting to get married, then its right time. So my advise, please counsult with an attorney if you are unmarried and filing 485.

Can't we turn Mr Durbin to our side since IL has a large Indian community ?
Define which Indian community?
Gujratis who own motels and shops and will want more family immigration vs H1B
or
Indians who are now citizens. They will want less Indians to reduce competition for their jobs or for their children.

Congratulations.
You have the right to feel what you want. But here are my 2 cents:
You on paper are now an American. It gives you good easy travel without visas etc. However people WILL treat you by your appearance/color/etc...
I request you to help your birth country by donating to schools etc like you donate to charities here(goodwill store etc).
Let me know if you dont agree!

there is no difference between online and regular MBA. some universities who have bith , do not even differentiate it in the diploma. for experiance people who add a MBA it has some value if they seek higher position. if you go on to to brick school you could get selected in campus interviews but the position is also lower

I had a question for all on the eb3 to eb2 porting - once the new EB2 labor gets approved and one applies for I-140 lets say in premium processing with the interfiling letter - does one need to reapply for I-485 once the I-140 is approved for the Eb2 application? This is for many EB3 folks that have been waiting after having applied for for I-485 in 2007. Any insight will be appreciated.

- try to get friends from other nationalities to join IV.
- If you are a graduate of A US university pls contact your alumni association and inform all their members.
- Send an email to all your friends. (template in resources section) informing about IV

Hello I got a yellow form 221(g) during my interview. Got my passport and approval back during the interview.
Are other people in PIMS getting this yellow form/ 221(g) stating that "when administrative processing is completed in your case we will contact you"?
This will allow me to decide if I am stuck in PIMS or something else.

I'm sure people here dont have that agility and adaptability to adjust in India and China. Though I heard lots of gora are in Hyderabad and other cities that wont be for long term. And without people from India/China IT can't survive here. Much bigger market (than Internet) will be fighting global warming. These guys won't screw their future by doing all these nonsense laws. Let us "C" what happens.

Thank you for the reply. When you say that if I go with Company A that there will be more scrutiny, do you mean they will check the vailidity of the offer and their ability to pay? I work for a Govt. Agency(Company C), they will give me an EVL but I am not sure if they will specify "in accordance with I140". I am actually doing the same job, same place, before as a contractor(Company A) and now as an Employee(Company C).
This is what you could do. Take the updated EVL letter from your HR/ Supervisor. Attach latest paystubs as additional proof. Now for duties if the EVL does not contain this info then attach a copy of job posting advertisement that was issued when you were hired. Every govt job needs to be advertised. It can be in papers or their own website. Then get the lawyer to draft the AC21 letter and to point out the similarities between this job and your labor.

My H1b (Revalidation for 7th yr) was on Dec 13th 1:45PM...Still hasnt receive my passport...Called the consulate ...they mentioned PIMS check is needed in order to stamp the passport...My travel date is Jan 9th..and I am also getting anxious...When asked about how long I will have to wait..they said to call back on Jan 5th (!!!????)...
Consulate apparently was on vacation from Dec 21st thru 26th..in US also until 2nd is pretty much 'holiday season' (lot of folks on vacation) (I hear this PIMS check is done by some system in Okalahoma)..
I hope I wont have to postpone my tickets...Looks like this system got kicked in Late Nov,Dec (Per Murthy)..May be we are the gini pigs..
I echoed my concern to the US consulate that delays will cause significant financial loss (extra vacation days, loss of pay, travel plan changes etc)...I dont think they are bothered..but it will be good if who ever is affected can send emails/call consulate and echo these concerns..('May be' all of us together will have a bigger voice)
