I completely agree with Logiclife and the goals IV has setforth to solve our problems. There is only so much one can achieve with limited resources under which IV operates.
We need to have a set of priorities and work on that one step at time. Though I have not been to DC, I can understand what IV is going through to get us some relief. The least I can do is contribute for our cause and thats what I am doing right now.
I wish people had some common sense and better understanding of the bigger picture(& issues) before they get involved in finger pointing and asking for more.
Everyone, please be patient and support IV whole heartedly and financially so that we can atleast attempt to fix the broken immigration system. Though I am VERY optimistic that we will achieve our goals in the near future, but I would not regret even once, if we failed. It is better to try and fail than not give it a shot at all.

With last year crisscrossing, EB2 India most apps are cleared upto september 2004. We should not have too many in 2004 except substitution cases.
Hope it will step into 2005 in next 4 months....
Yes, I guess the slowdown will happen when it hits the 2005 mark when PERM was introducted and a lot of EB3 were converted into EB2

This is what I mean by fingerpointing. So why are u so special? Just because u claim to be honest u must not point fingers at others. I am not criticizing u or not arguing, but fingerpointing will not lead to anything constructive. I think this is good news, but I am not sure if this will affect me. I have PERM approved labor on my name. I didn't apply for I-140 because I wanted my wife to get F1 visa before doing that. This is because F1 application for my wife can have problem if there is immigration petition and she is beneficiary. I don't know how much time its going to take me to get greencard or work authorization for my wife and I want her to get the advantage of OPT after completing her studies so that she can make her career.
So I guess if this rule comes, I have to apply I-140 immediately? Is this true? Please advice me.

They want to charge $8500 for every renewal . I have a better idea here , make H1 valid for 3 months instead of 3 years, More money for these guys.
All of these guys are competing give amnesty at the same punishing employers who play by the rules.

This is really bad news indeed. USCIS is screwing us up big time. How can they see a demand for the numbers when there is no one applying for the past 3 months?
Any why cann't they determine Oct dates for EB3 now? What will change in Early September? Are they going to process any EB3 with "U" in early September? This is so BS.

Politicians care first for their votebanks (present and future) and second for their sources of funding aka corporate lobbies. They are the ones who have the ability to make a difference.

The point is what did we lose by calling. It took us a call which any way is free. Took 2-3 minutes of our time which other wise we were not planning to use in any other better activity. So even if the campaign fails ( I pray it does not) still we havent lost finacially or in any way. Atleast it brought so many people together to do something constructive. Made people understand how a bill works in senate.
To your other point that senetors do not care about non voters then then the only other way is lobbying and paying for campaign funds. Can we do that the answer is plain NO. Most people on H1B are working for blod sucking consultants who pa them far less than what they deserve. How much can they contribute financially if they have dependent wife an kid here and parents in home country. Add to this the job insecurity in current market and there is no guarranty that paying one time will bring any results. Least this way every one contributes.

This bill is in House judicial committee for markup only. This bill is not tabled on house floor yet. Even after markup and voting, this bill still needs to be tabled on house floor. If it gets approved there, similar measure S3414 will be brought to Senate floor for voting.
