it would make our plans to go back even more certian.. A MASS EXODUS of HIGH TECH WORKERS.. is exactly what this country needs..way to go!
If CIR S.1348 results as a death sentence to the draems of thousands of
hightech workers and eventually it results to a exodus i'm sure they will realize the mistake at the end.
When they will see that No one is interested in this country to study and Pursue STEM ( even with scholarship) and their problem is still unresolved they probably have to spend Double the Money to bringback Indians here.

Pay 3 times if they want us to do that from Offshore.... No Compromise man !!

Hi Smartboy75 & Wawa, I also received the same update on Sep 28th ,I am in pending h1b transfer and uscis tried to reopen my previous approved h1b .
I am June filer and got all the receipts. Please keep me posted as well.

just like my case...H1 transfer pending and case reopened on previous approved H1b....I would request everybody to keep an eye on all your H1 approvals, past and present, so that in case you guys have the same issue ..you can quickly search this tread for feedback....

With all due respect I don't think lottery may be a workable idea. Here's why -
Those who buy lotteries wish to spend least possible amount of money for a chance to win an insanely large sum of money - for e.g. spend $10 to win $10 million. Idea is prize money should make the money spent feel ridiculously low ( it doesn't matter if chances of winning are lower than getting struck by lightning ! ). How can this be worked out in the IV scenario?
2 times the money is less than what people win at a 'Pot luck'!

I would say, we should take the web fax created by numberUSA and answer each and every point of it in red and bold and then fax to all senetors. Some senetors who are neutral on legal immigration will know exactly whats going on with these anti-immigrants.

For my situation discussed above, I took an infopass appointmnet at Baltimore and they couldn't offer a concrete answer since the case is pending with TSC. They asked me to reply to RFE asking for extension and provide supporting documents. I'm not sure if that would be accepted and results in denial of I-485.

Thank you for the reply. When you say that if I go with Company A that there will be more scrutiny, do you mean they will check the vailidity of the offer and their ability to pay? I work for a Govt. Agency(Company C), they will give me an EVL but I am not sure if they will specify "in accordance with I140". I am actually doing the same job, same place, before as a contractor(Company A) and now as an Employee(Company C).
Either way is fine. Is company A willing to hire you, and you intend to join them when GC comes through? If so, send that letter. There might be alittle bit more scrutiny that way.
If you intend to stick with company C in the future, you can send the EVL of C and include a letter explanining you invoked AC21.

I have been a IV member since 2006 . I have seen the ups/downs . donated money , sent letters , attended rallies and done whatever has been been proposed . But I see that many senior members who had the drive to motivate people are not sending or being part of any messages or threads at all and that is exactly why the movement seems to be losing steam .
The standard response that I see to any question is "have you donated money ? " . "Don't ask for anything till you have donated. " this is followed by some some red dots which normally works to silence the questions. People will be willing to donate when they believe in the movement . I remember we collected $ 30,000 in 1 month before the rally there was huge thread with all the donations . People were charged up and the money came up automatically . I am willing to donate but to be brutally honest I do not see the same level of motivation as was there in 2006 / 2007 days .Please use this as a wakeup call and not as reason to vent your frustration on me .
There are many senior members who I do not even see any more . Members joining in late 2007 or early 2008 will not know any of these guys .
Aman Kapoor . He is the founder of IV . I have not seen his messages since the past 3 years almost . Where is he ? Is it too much for him to send a greeting in New years eve motivating the members ? It takes just 2 minutes .
Mark Bartosik :- He was supposed to the spokesperson for IV .The guy with the MasterCard sign for immigration . I have not seen him for quite some time now
Where are the other senior leaders like
a) Walden Pond
b) There was a this British Girl from San Jose ( had a handle which had name like Rose or something )
c) Niloufer Bustani from Dallas. I see her once in a while but very sparingly .
The others even I have forgotten completely.
The only leadership/core that I see is Pappu and no one else . If you have a country where the prime minister shows his face only once in 4 years , how are the people supposed to believe in that movement ? Please don't reply with a message saying what have I done or why can't I contribute money ? I have done that I am looking for leadership to show us the way and motivate us . All campaigns don't need money donations( Letters , calls , faxes etc ) . We could start with that and then drum up support and momentum and then the money will start flowing in automatically . There has to be a synchronized campaign organized by the leadership and all I see is everybody putting their eggs in the basket called spillover.

How do you know that all the unused visas go to EB3 before go to EB2?
Even if the immigration reform happens, will it take effect next year or sometime later? How come my PD can become current immediately once the immigration reform happens?

as soon as the president signs on the SKIL bill, it will become a law, and uscis will implement it within 24 hours. However, regarding your point about PD becoming current immediately: since many MS degree holders are in EB2, their PDs will become current immediately. So uscis will be able to move EB3 very fast. If it doesn't happen immediately, it will happen within a couple of months.

I was also unable to find a state chapter just a few months back. So I started one. Now we have around 60 members. Someone needs to take the initiative and set the ball rolling. That someone can be you.

these uscis reps dont even know that the uscis reversed their visa bulletin. all they were told was they will be rejected and that is what they are reiterating. they do not even know that the people at service centers were asked to hold them back. they are just like a bunch of kids who were told
