I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS...this morning 10:00AM CST we got the CPO emails for both of us...
I just can not thank Aall of you enough and the IV community for the support they have provided over the last few years - especially since Sept 1.
THANK YOU GOD - THANKS FOR LISTENING.
I will be around - not going anywhere and will support IV efforts!
BEST OF LUCK FOR THOSE WHO ARE WAITING...Believe me "appka bhi number aayega" I was loosing hopes - since Sept 1 when saw number of approvals after my PD/RD/ND etc..but there is really nothing that can predict this system.

- First, it is highly unlikely that Hastert will ever, ever support CIR. That itself is a "red flag" from a post by "Red card."
- Actions speak louder than words. If Murtha becomes the majority leader in house than Democrat agenda for 2008 presidential agenda will be Iraq not immigration. That doesn't mean no immigration reform, just not in the "lame-duck" session.
- Lets wait for next year for any progress on immigration.

I used to transfer money earlier by Remit2India (R2i) and sometimes C2i but since then they started making ( or your stealing) more brokerage money out of my hard earned dollars - i switched :cool:
Let me know how you feel the online SBI - they are always 15-10 p more than ICICI or CITI so at the end of year if you save average $25k you are anyway saving Rs 25k/year. Plus they maintain some ethics about tweaking rates and the exact day they dump the cash to your account - i got about 43.25 when market rate was 43.57 and those smart banks ( or thieves) were doing around 43.07..43.12

ICICI bank did steal my money. Conversion rate applied to my transaction is less than the rate that was on the actual initiation date, transaction date, processed date.
Not only that its a record time remittance from ICICI bank.

I am not sure if that is going to be an advantage since my PD was not current in JUNE
who knows? immigrantconnect.com reported that they heard that some applications were approved in june even when the pd wasn't current in that month. i wouldn't worry about it.

I was thinking if people feel they are getting something (for those that don't feel they are getting anything from contributing to IV even though IV is trying to do so much for people) like a WII at a chance of some small amount of $10...i'm thinking of how people play the lotto..put in a small amount of money and hope for something big. more people may put in a small amount of money to get something they like...

Forum Gurus - I got a denial letter on my 485. I am a July 2007 filer and applied for AOS in July 2007. My 140 was revoked by ex employer in August 2008 and immediately I got a NOID from USCIS and responded to it in a timely manner and my case processing resumed.
But now, I got a denial stating that my 140 has been revoked in August 2008 and thats why my 485 is denied. My Attorney is filing for MTR and says it is a mistake on their side and will be resolved through MTR.
It just baffles me that the person who sent the denial letter never looked into the system to see my case trail and blindly issued the denial notice. My Attorney says, it is very much possible that they do not look at RFEs or responses - they just issue denials when they browse through the 140s.
I am EB2 India with a priority date of March 2006. I think some kind of pre assessment is going on. There are no LUDs and mine is at the TSC.
Is there anyone else in the same boat? How long does it take for MTR to get processed?

Guys,
Lets not fight here. People in pain will cry, whether in EB2 or EB3 or any.
The system is broken and we must make sure its fixed.
Hope we know how people came here 60 years back. They got citizenship on day one. So what do we do. Things change, but there must be an order.
We must contribute to an organization thats trying to help us. Lets not be different to it. We are not living in any ideal world.
Did I contribute till now.. no..
Was I trying to in the last two weeks.. YES..
Let me do it tomorrow for sure.

Hello IVians,
As we all await our GCs, I thot we can explore some investment vehicles.
Does anyone here have experience with commodity trading?
Can we trade in commodities on H1 or L1 status?
Is it too risky like forex trading?
Who are the online brokers offer commodity trading?
Is there a minimum account balance / trade required every month or so?
Pls share your experience. Thanks!

Of course, some will keep sitting on their fences unfortunately, but at least it will get a few more to join!
Hope there is a way to elicit Corporate contributions to our cause as well!
We are moving, and we are doing great - but unfortunately we are surrounded by a culture of instant gratification, which I am not personally fond of!
I will try to persuade more community members to join!

Sent in my contribution, even though i havent started my green card process yet .. and may never get around to starting it if the GC status quo continues. However, this is a just and commendable cause, and I believe we should do all we can to get favorable reforms passed now .. strike when the immigration iron is hot.
