I know of lot of people who got their GC approved in August last year but was dated July.
So the window of oppertunity is not just August. Even if the dates retrogress, there may be chances for approvals in September with a August date.
I hate this wait. I wish they could approve now for a August start date :D

I don't understand why people are waiting for approval from IV? We are doing nothing illegal if that is what you are afraid of! Or are you afraid that the USCIS will come after you because you sent them Flowers???
If you think sending flowers are a good idea then send them PLEASE! Currently people have ordered flowers with a delivery date of July 10th. It will be great if USCIS gets them all on the same day!
Don't wait for approval from IV! You are all individuals you can make the decision for yourselves!

You can take a permission from USCIS to remain absent for a period of upto 2 years. After that you will either lose your GC or you need to go back to consulate in your home country and ask for a permission for reentry.

As there is not enough response....nothing is happening on this front. I think its little difficult to arrange on Mar 1st as its already Feb 10th.
We may need to postpone this...but need more people. Atleast 1000-2000.
