This is what I know.
Dates WILL retrogess very severely in the first part of US fiscal year 2008; that first part will be Oct 2007. The visa bulletin for Oct 2007 is expected around Sept 14th.
I read in another thread, that retrogression need not wait for new visa bulletin. In the past dates have retrogressed well before the end of the month (don't have specifics)
My educated guesstimate is close to 'rondu lakshalu' - 'dos lakshlu' will be applying for AOS now under EBs. I have a feeling that USCIS wants to precipitate the AOS filing with an intention to get to see how many are really out there; they can't get this from LCs or I-140.

Will this recapture employment based immigrant visas lost by USCIS or only family based.... Didn't seem too clear to me. Pg 22... seems more focused on family based to me (not that I have anything against family based).

one of my collegue did his h1b extn @ chennai, had lots of question, on W2 difference between 2007 & 2008, paystubs etc. Another person go rejected though he came for extn too. By participate I mean being in DC for the event or donating airmiles or donating funds for the event.

As far as I know, I-485 is not the petition for Visa whereas, I-140 is the immigration petition. Your I-485 stems from the underlying I-140. I-485 is merely an adjustment of Staus from non-immigrant to immigrant intent if you are already in this country.
Let's see how this all plays out. After seeing yesterday's amendments, all my anxiety changed into laughter as that's how pathetic this bill is at this point.

Dear my friends Can I get copy of LC filing copy and 45 letter copy through
FOIA? I recently got laid off after working 4 years in same company. My employer is refusing to give LC filing copy. In my knowledge to get new H1 as I am 8th year extension from my new employer, I need to have copy of LC filing. I am in dilemma; please guide me if you can. I am not a monthly contributor anymore and still willing to donate for issue based funding drives. In the past I donated more than 500$ including FOIA and also brought in lot of my friends for FOIA. I called all over state offices and talked to many nice and well-meaning folks.
I think initiative is to target illegal or criminal people but legal immigrants are caught in the crossfire.
Not many people in the Attorney General's office were aware of implications of these for Michigan economy or impact on business or hardship for legal immigrants or students.
I suggest folks call Attorney General's office and ask to talk to folks.
Also call Kelly Chesney 517-373-2520 who is media contact for SOS
Attorney General Michael Cox's office line is @ 517 373 1110 and
He probably did not realize all the impacts on various groups so call and register your concerns.
If he wants he can clarify the interpretation.
Even US Supreme Court has previously ruled upon this fact that for the purpose of Driving Permits , Legal Residents of all types can not be refused a permit.

This is common knowledge for anyone involved in immigration research.
Also, if this is true and they decide to make changes, we should push even harder to get this passed asap.

I am not affiliated to any "Tracker" website of any kind and I post along the same lines there as well because I can see a group of people making money for their own benefits from hardworking people like you and me. Thanks God, today my Attorney received a call from USCIS. They accepted that my case was received on July 27, 2007, but they could not find it. So, my attorney received special instructions to refile. I am really happy to finally have an answer.

Because if the bill being debated in current form becomes law without any amendments to change the effective date (May 21 2007), all before that date will be screwed.

* I applied for AP on Dec-17th.
* I got Receipt Notice on Dec-31.
* Its with Nebraska Service Center.
* I already booked my flight tickets (departing date is Jan-31)
Now, only 10 WORKING DAYS left for my travel. Once approved, it takes 2 to 3 days for the mail. That left only 7 or 8 working days for something to happen. I am beginning to worry as this could mess up my plans.
What are my options at this time?. Does info-pass help in my situation (Its not a medical emergency)? Should I just sit and wait? or do something?
please advice.
