I do not think there is thumb rule for this, and I do not think there is anything or place universally better!!! It all depends on personal circumstances and preferences.
We spend an entire lifetime stagnating just waiting for a GC. But whats life after GC if you havent acquired skills to keep you meaningfully employed. Nothing is available on a platter neither here in the US not back home in India. The days of stable jobs with time based promotions are over, everywhere. I have been the US for 9 years, no GC yet, and I am not devoting my lifetime waiting for GC either, if it comes before I feel stagnated, very good, if not well the world is my playground. I think keeping an open mind and flexibility to jump at any opportunity where-ever it shows up is the way the world works. So stop looking for another anchor to tie you down.. GC us just an excuse.. I am sure there are opportunities for hardworking people everywhere!!!

Now that we are out retrogression lets focus on solving the the Name check black hole. According to 2007 Ombudsman report there are over 30,000 cases whose name check has been pending for more than 3 years.

OK Looks like it is balance which should exceed 10K at given time in a year and not sum of the transactions one has made in a year.

You guys could not even get more than 5 people like you and could not even have the courage to have all 5 of you appear for the interview.

-Not sure what you mean by "To go to India, we do not need a transit visa". My understanding is that you need Transit visa every time via the German Airport.
-As per the Consualte website you need to appear in person. You cannot apply via post.
-I am travelling to another state to get apply for my visa. (to Illinois).
-I asked the consulate if I both my onward and return journey will be covered by one transit visa. He replied in the mail saying they will try to cover me bothways.
-Since you have only one week I am not sure if you could get back your visa within that time frame. The embassy says it will take 2 weeks to send back the stamped passports.
my suggestion is that to send an email to the embassy right away explaining your situation (lack of time) and ask their advice.

we never sent 1099 before and in his/her calculation there were diff of 1099 and IO was trying to look for income/assets to account for that diff. this time we sent IO 1099 and they add up to proferd wage.
But the first poiint that comes is why would IO reopen an approved case 2.5 yrs down the road.
I may not have evidence for to judge, but the sequence of dates tell me that there is somthg fishy.

Nov 8 I-140 intent to deny letter
Who knows whats in IO mind for revisitng the 140 case but the point is if its the same IO who denied my 140/485 in feb,07 for not asking about my new emplyer, I am scared that if he does the same mistake this time i willl have to again go into appeal process.
And this time i don't have any H1 status as fall back. So I am very worried because that IO now control our lives

You may also want to keep in mind about other options such as filing a lawsuit at a Federal Court. But, you should be very sure of your evidence, it may take a couple of years in the court and cost a lot.

Let me correct this. It's not the same day we went for Physical examination on Friday. All the vaccination has been done on that day. They asked us to come back on Monday morning. Yes you are right they need 48 hrs to test the Skin/TB test. If you don't get appointment in other places. Try this walkin option. It's reliable. Good service.

all this propaganda of indians being good at science and math, and americans not studying science and math, is hogwash.
indians hardly ever get any nobel prizes, or even patents or original journal articles. most science articles from them are "review of .." etc type, which are just a formality to get the numbers into their resume.
most science and math books (kreyszig?) were by americans/britishers.
the truth is never publicly broadcast.
americans are not stupid. they don't study math or science, because it does not pay. they study english, MBA etc because that's where you make contacts, and contacts get you places.
the few americans who do math and science are very good at it.
the problem is built into the reward structure of the american (and now global) economy. the best jobs are in finance, and finance is about contacts, and lying in a legal manner.

I am not being ideological here - just being cautious of the restrictionists' known record of hyprocrisy. Keep in mind - the restrictionists are idealogues, not rational folks given to reason. Judge them by action, not hypocritical words. Tell me one instance where numbersUSA actually tried to reform the H1-B or EB visa - for them reform is a euphemism for ABOLISH. I have been following matloff's articles for a long time now. Please read all of them, and you will notice that the only immigration he supports is the EB-1 variety of truly exceptional ability researchers. He rejects the need for any H1-Bs at all in fields like software development. Its a fallacy to equate that with Canada's point based system. Once we align with them, they will use us, twist our words and spit us out when it suits them.We will also loose the support of organizations like competeamerica and AILA for good. Expect them to fully ignore us from that point on.

If IV as an organization collectively determines that it is in our best interests to selectively side with the enemy, I am all for it. Let the core team decide what is best for us. Don't go overboard in blaming obama for this memo. Administration has nothing to do with a USCIS memo. Memo might have been poorly worded that's all. It has to be corrected. IV core is working on it.
Even though Obama and democrats are perceived as socialists, immigrant community would benefit more under democrats than GOP. Under GOP we would have remained in this limbo for years altogether. GOP cannot pass any favorable immigration bill even if they want to because of the anti-immigrant/racist supporters behind them.
IMO July fiasco (making everything current) was the side effect of CIR 2007. USCIS/DOS didn't do a mistake there. That was intentional move by DOS in anticipation of a passage of CIR. When they were sure that CIR won't pass, they reverted the bulletin back and rest is history. Who was behind CIR 2007 push ? Mainly democrats. McCain and Bush just gave the required support.
Who created AC21 ? Democrats.

On the question of undocumented, opposing groups have continued to beat down on undocumented by saying "what about legal immigrants". It does not mean that these opposing groups support legal immigrants; it just means that they like to pitch one group against another and have used this tactics for a long time. We have to be smarter if we want to reach our objective. IV has repeatedly request all members not to engage in beating down on the undocumented because it hurts our agenda. And if some members continue to use IV resources for beating down on the undocumented, we will be left with no other choice but to gently request, followed by maybe a personal message eventually leading to banning a user. It is no fun to ban someone from the forum. But if that it what it takes to reach our objective, then that's ok too. We are not here to please anyone. We are here to reach our objectives.

IV's objectives do not list promotion of the first amendment as there are lots of other people working on that goal. If someone is looking to work on promoting or preserving freedom of speech then please find other resources. It is no fun to ban someone from the forum. But if that it what it takes to reach our objective, then that's ok too. We are not here to please anyone. We are here to reach our objectives.
Once again if we could clearly clarify, IV was not created with the objective to promote or preserve freedom of speech. IV's objectives do not list promotion of the first amendment as there are lots of other people working on that goal. If someone is looking to work on promoting or preserving freedom of speech then please find other resources. Again beating down on the undocumented is against our agenda and we will be forced to take stringent measures to safeguard our agenda. If it involves some folks joining numbersusa, then so be it. We know we cannot make everyone happy and so that is not part of our goal either. We are investing our time and energy for a very specific purpose we are want to stay on the target. Even though we all agree with world peace, IV will not add world peace in its agenda.
